Moroccan Gendarmerie Busts Burglary Ring in Selouane, Recovers $200,000 in Stolen Goods

The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie have apprehended a gang of burglars operating in Selouane. Ten suspects were arrested and then brought before the public prosecutor’s office near the Court of Appeal of Nador.
The dismantling of this network follows a complaint filed to report that a hole had been dug by criminals on the road leading to a warehouse and that a large quantity of food products and imported and cleared goods had disappeared.
The elements of the royal gendarmerie of the region have started research and investigations to find the stolen goods, which have been estimated at around two million dirhams. They managed to arrest, at first, six criminals.
The investigation carried out proved that they took advantage of the night to dig the wall of the warehouse to enter it whenever they wanted, to steal the goods that they resold to merchants in Selouane, Al Âroui, Nador and other cities in the region. In the process, four fences were also arrested.
