The Royal Armed Forces of Morocco, in cooperation with the Royal Gendarmerie, thwarted an attempt to traffic drugs by drone at the Algerian border, near the city of Oujda.
The suspicious device was detected thanks to state-of-the-art surveillance technologies, thus disrupting the plans of traffickers who are increasingly using modern means for their illegal activities. Alerted, the gendarmes of Oujda and Beni Drar quickly located the drone, which had fallen in an isolated area.
The device will now be examined by experts in order to determine the nature of its cargo and analyze the video recordings it contains.
