Moroccan Football Federation to Suspend Anti-Doping Tests Due to Budget Constraints

The anti-doping control, initiated by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the National Professional Football League, will soon be suspended. This is the decision taken by the national football authority due to lack of funds.
The daily Assabah reports that the staff in charge of carrying out these controls did not show up at the stadiums that hosted the Botola matches last Sunday and Wednesday. The same source reports that this absence of agents would be synonymous with the abandonment of the operation.
According to the same media, the federation is in a deadlock and is about to announce the suspension of the implementation of these controls, despite the adoption of Decree No. 2/18-303 establishing the operation by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
In total, the collection of urine samples from two players playing in two clubs costs 16,000 DH. This figure rises to 256,000 DH for the control applicable to 16 matches in D1 and D2.
The bill is likely to increase due to the sending of samples for processing and analysis by a Swiss laboratory, which bills 50,000 DH for each analysis, it is further specified.
