Moroccan Firms Face Ransomware Threats: Hackers Demand Crypto Payment

Hackers are demanding large sums of money from Moroccan businessmen, threatening to disclose the data of their companies that they have managed to hack.
These cybercriminals have used systems to hack the data of three companies specialized in import-export and having clients in Europe, Africa and the Gulf countries, reports Assabah. The hackers have threatened the leaders of these companies to disseminate their information if the sums of money they demand are not paid in cryptocurrencies within a month, according to sources in the Arabic-language daily.
The managers of the companies that were victims of this hacking have entrusted the case to foreign partners specialized in the settlement of this type of situation so that an agreement can be reached with the hackers. These Moroccan businessmen want to preserve the confidentiality of their data, which is why they prefer to negotiate. The amount of the sums demanded by the cybercriminals has not been revealed.
