Moroccan Finance Ministry Reports 300 COVID-19 Cases, 6 Deaths Among Staff

Among the Moroccans infected with the coronavirus, there are 300 cases and 6 deaths at the Ministry of Finance. The information was made public on Thursday by Minister Mohamed Benchaâboun, during his appearance before the members of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives.
The national treasurer paid tribute to all his employees affected by Covid-19, before going into the presentation of the sectoral budget for the year 2021. He named the six civil servants who died from covid-19. They are five men and one woman.
Mohamed Benchaâboun stressed that the number of civil servants at the Ministry of Economy and Finance is 19,235. About 80% of them work in the external services. Women, for their part, represent 40% of the total workforce.
Regarding the budget allocated to this ministry as part of the 2021 Finance Bill, the minister stressed that it is estimated at 3.59 billion dirhams, divided between staff expenses. An amount of 3.07 billion dirhams is allocated to equipment and 415 million dirhams to various expenses. As for capital expenditure, the sum of 105 million dirhams is granted to them.
