Moroccan Field Hospital in Beirut Provides Over 50,000 Medical Services After Deadly Blast

In the aftermath of the explosion that claimed the lives of more than 200 people in Beirut, Morocco has set up a field military hospital. A total of 51,223 medical services have been provided by the Moroccan medical teams.

The field military hospital was set up on August 10. Until today, 21,477 people have benefited from the medical care provided by the hospital staff in various specialties. These include 394 surgical interventions in various specialties, such as general surgery, orthopedics and joint medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, obstetric surgery, resuscitation, burn repair surgery, anesthesia, pediatrics and general medicine. There were also 1,672 medical analyses, 2,645 X-ray examinations, 1,522 echocardiography examinations and the distribution of medicines to more than 17,254 people, reports the MAP.

The director of the hospital, Colonel Major Kacem Chagar, is pleased with the professional conscience with which the medical staff, composed of 46 doctors and nurses, has put itself at the service of the population greatly affected by this tragedy. He assured that this health facility is providing its services under good conditions and in compliance with the prevention and precaution measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
