Moroccan Father-Son Duo Brings Pizza Expertise to France

In France, Ahmed Wahbi, a man of Moroccan origin, and his son, Youssef, devote their lives to pizza. And their daily efforts are crowned with success.
Ahmed is an unconditional and professional pizza lover. His passion for this famous Italian dish, he nourishes and lives it in Italy where his family had settled when he was 5 years old. After obtaining a vocational training certificate (BEP), a professional skills certificate (CAP) and a professional chef’s certificate, he specializes in pizza, reports La Voix du Nord. The Moroccan becomes a pizzaiolo in Italy. His wish to perfect his art leads him to Switzerland, to Lake Constance. After his training, he sets his sights on Germany, where he gets a position as a brigade chef and trains young people in the art of pizza. In 2012, his adventure stops in France, more precisely in Beauvais. With his wife Loubna, he set up his own business, his own pizzeria, L’Onnaingeoise, in an unused premises in the city in 2014.
Ahmed’s fascination for pizza making competitions, nurtured since his apprenticeship, does not leave him. He finished 5th at the French championship in 2017, 1st at the World Championship in 2018. He will not be alone to participate in the competitions. His son Youssef follows in his footsteps. In 2022, he obtained a 3rd place in acrobatic pizza. In mid-April, Youssef, one of the youngest participants, won 2nd place at the French pizza championship in Paris. Ahmed and his son ranked in the top thirty in classic pizza. Determined to do better, these two pizza specialists now have their sights set on the 2024 edition. They plan to make a pizza as a duo.
