Moroccan Fashion Designer Extradited, Faces Prosecution in ’Hamza mon bb’ Social Media Scandal

Fashion designer Aicha Ayach, the alleged mastermind behind the "Hamza mon bb" accounts on Instagram and Snapchat, was referred this Friday to the Marrakech prosecutor’s office after being questioned by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police.
Extradited from the United Arab Emirates earlier this week, the defendant, before being referred to the prosecutor’s office at the court of first instance in Marrakech, underwent a long interrogation about her alleged involvement in the case of the two anonymous accounts on the social networks Instagram and Snapchat.
She was also confronted with the other defendants in this case, including a stylist, Soltana, and the singer Dounia Batma.
At this stage, and according to the procedure in force, the Marrakech prosecutor’s office will have to decide whether to prosecute in custody or on provisional release, with the guarantees provided by law, such as the payment of bail and/or the deposit of the passport.
