Moroccan Far-Left Leader Released After Brief Detention Over Check Dispute

A few hours after his arrest in a hotel in Tangier on Sunday, March 6, 2022, Abdellah El Harif, member of the national office of the far-left party Annahj Addimocrati, was released. He was accused of issuing checks without provision.
Abdellah El Harif is now free to move around. On the order of the public prosecutor’s office near the court of first instance in Casablanca, he was released on Sunday afternoon. This release of the political leader comes after his wife handed the police a certificate of withdrawal of the complaint from the beneficiary of the checks, reports Tanja24.
The Tangier police elements arrested on Sunday morning in a hotel in the city, Abdellah El Harif against whom the Casablanca police prefecture had issued a warrant for "issuing checks without provision" for an amount of 70,000 DH. His arrest followed a routine check of the identity of the hotel’s customers. Abdellah El Harif arrived at the hotel on Saturday.
