The arrival in Morocco this summer of Moroccans living abroad as part of the Marhaba Operation will contribute to boosting the real estate sector.
The direct housing assistance program launched last January has been successful with Moroccans living abroad. 20% of the 64,000 housing assistance applications received were filed by Moroccans living abroad, said Mustapha Baitas, the government spokesman.
"Moroccans living abroad, who are making a strong comeback in the real estate sector, are a factor in revitalizing and relaunching the market," confirmed an expert in the sector in an interview with MAP.
For the latter, real estate asset prices (residential and land), up 0.4% in the first quarter of 2024, are showing relative stability in the second quarter. A trend that is surprising, given the increase in the prices of inputs and construction materials.

The expert highlights the many construction sites open throughout the kingdom, noting that the global political and economic situation could influence these forecasts.
