Moroccan Exorcist Sentenced to 10 Years for Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

The fqih of Berkane was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a case of exploitation of women and sexual abuse under the guise of "roqia charaia", or exorcism. The sentence was handed down by the Oujda Court of Appeal on Wednesday, October 30.
The Court also sentenced two other defendants, relatives of the victim, to two years in prison for violence and failure to report a crime, according to the Febrayer website. They appeared in a video in indecent poses with the fqih.
Around forty years old, the former Moroccan Resident Abroad (MRE) who had lived in Belgium, had been prosecuted for fraud, rape, illegal sexual relations and possession of pornographic images.
Assiduous in bars and nightclubs, the charlatan, who hypnotized his victims and sexually abused them, had appeared in a viral video in obscene positions with a young girl.
