Moroccan Doctors Launch Free Cataract Surgery Program for 1,000 Elderly Patients

As part of the World Days of Vision and Aging, a medical solidarity program for the care of 5,000 elderly patients has been jointly launched by the Association of Private Ophthalmologists of Rabat and the Moroccan Medical Solidarity Association.
This initiative, which concerns people over 70 years of age, will allow nearly 1,000 patients suffering from cataracts to be operated on by volunteer ophthalmologists from the private sector.
In addition to this charitable action, two major sporting events, namely a cycling tournament and a half-marathon, will be organized on Sunday, October 27, by the two associations, in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation.
This major action is an opportunity for private ophthalmologists and Moroccan athletes to confirm their commitment to social humanitarian activities and to consolidate the values of solidarity in the fight against poverty.
