Moroccan doctoral students missing in Europe after university mission

The two students belong to the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Mohammedia, under Hassan II University. They had traveled to Europe as part of a mission supervised by their professor within a laboratory.

The teacher returned alone to Morocco shortly before the end of the mission. The absence of the two doctoral students then fueled reports that they had taken advantage of this university trip to remain in Europe.

The dean of the faculty, Abdelhamid Ibn El Farouk, however claims to have no precise data to confirm this hypothesis.

The faculty still refuses to speak of a flight

According to Hespress, the scientific mission only ended on Monday. The two students could therefore have completed their work and simply be preparing their return to Morocco.

The administration will ask them, as well as their supervisor, to submit detailed reports on the conduct of the mission and the scientific objectives achieved. This procedure is normally applied after university trips abroad.

"We must not wrong any party," insists the dean, who refuses to place the doctoral students under accusation before receiving their explanations.
