Moroccan Dirham Strengthens Against Euro and Dollar, Reserves Stable

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.28% against the euro and 0.11% against the dollar during the week of May 9 to 15.

According to Bank Al-Maghrib, in its note on its weekly indicators, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market.

As for the net international reserves, they stood at 232 billion dirhams, almost stable compared to the previous week, while on an annual basis, they show a growth of 3.4%.

BAM also injected a total of 71.7 billion dirhams, including 69 billion dirhams in the form of 7-day advances on tenders, and 2.7 billion dirhams granted under the program to support the financing of VSEs (Very Small Enterprises).

During the same period, the central bank recorded a trading volume of 311.6 million dirhams compared to 187.7 million dirhams a week earlier.

The central bank’s figures also show that the Masi (stock market index) increased by 1.1% during the same period and is down 0.2% since the beginning of the year.
