Moroccan Dirham Strengthens Against Euro, Bank Al-Maghrib Reports

The dirham appreciated last week by 0.68% against the euro and depreciated by 0.04% against the dollar, according to figures just published by Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
BAM also indicates that no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market during the same period.
As for interventions in the money market, they amounted to 76.3 billion dirhams, including 74 billion dirhams in the form of 7-day advances, on a call for tenders, and 2.3 billion dirhams granted under the Support Program for the financing of very small and medium-sized enterprises (TMPE).
As for the interbank rate, it stood at 2.25% and the trading volume at 3.4 billion dirhams, according to the weekly indicators, according to which, during the call for tenders on July 10, an amount of 72.1 billion dirhams was injected in the form of 7-day advances, according to BAM.
