Moroccan Diaspora’s Role in New Development Model Explored in CCME Debate Series

The New Development Model (NMD) and the role that Moroccans living abroad can play in it will be the subject of a series of debates initiated by the digital platform "Awacer TV", under the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME). These meetings, which aim to accompany the current debate on the NMD, will be broadcast until August 6.
A series of weekly debates to explain to Moroccans around the world the place that is theirs in the New Development Model (NMD) and the roles they can play to contribute to the achievement of the objectives set out in the 170-page document handed over to King Mohammed VI by the Special Commission on the Development Model.
It is therefore through the theme, "Moroccans of the world and the new development model" that these debates will take place, which will particularly highlight "the role of Moroccans living abroad in promoting investment, encouraging innovation, developing scientific research and improving fund transfers", according to a CCME press release.
It will also be a question, according to the CCME, of exchanging around the strategies to be put in place in order to attract the skills of Moroccans of the world and to benefit from their experiences and expertise. The press release stresses that these debates also aim to find the means to strengthen the ties of the Moroccan community with Moroccan culture and religious model, and to explore the roles of civil society, new technologies and the younger generations of Moroccans of the world in the development and success of the development model.
The debates will be broadcast every Friday evening in the "Joussour" program, and will be moderated by academics, scientists, researchers, intellectuals, artists and many other actors from different fields, specialties, countries and continents. This will be through themes as multiple and varied as the following programming.
• "Moroccans of the world and advocacy for national causes abroad" (July 2)
• "The development model and the need for skills" (July 9)
• "Moroccans of the world and economic development" (July 16)
• "The role of digital technology in strengthening communication with the younger generations of Moroccans around the world" (July 23)
• "The development model and cultural work abroad" (July 30)
• "Moroccan religiosity and Moroccans of the world" (August 6)
