New Moroccan Customs Rules Allow MREs to Lend Vehicles to More People

Among the novelties of the Moroccan Customs Guide for Moroccans Residing Abroad, one is related to the vehicle accepted under the so-called Temporary Admission (TA) procedure.
What is TA first? It is the six-month period allowed by the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) to all Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) who enter Morocco with their car. It can remain in the Kingdom for a maximum of six months and not a day more. The customs officers will issue a fine if the deadline is exceeded. This can range from 1,000 to 10,000 dirhams.
Regarding the loan of this vehicle, the Moroccan customs has just expanded the people to whom the MRE can lend his car. We provide the answer as it is written in the circular:
"The driving of a vehicle registered abroad, placed under the Temporary Admission regime, is extended to ascendants, in addition to spouses and descendants, who are also residents abroad, and this, in dispensation of a power of attorney."
Customs mentions a power of attorney, which means that the MRE has the possibility of establishing a power of attorney at the Moroccan consulate or another foreign authority, if it therefore concerns a person other than the family.
