Moroccan Customs Destroys Major Drug Haul in Casablanca Operation

An operation to destroy a significant quantity of drugs and various contraband products took place on Thursday at the Médiouna landfill, in the suburbs of Casablanca.
The customs officer at Mohammed V Airport, Housni Eddahar, stated during a press conference that these destroyed products were seized as part of the efforts made by the customs administration to fight international drug trafficking.
This includes 16 kg of cocaine, 132 kg of chira, 7,000 psychotropic drugs, 1,376 kg of shisha tobacco, 308 packs of cigarettes, 20 kg of tobacco, 128 kg of khat, 2 grams of heroin, and other contraband products, reports La Map.
Elements of the National Security and the Royal Gendarmerie, at the level of the Provincial Directorate of Nouaceur, also participated in these operations. The destruction also took place under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, in the presence of representatives of the local authorities and the security services concerned.
