Moroccan Court Sentences Two Women in International Sex Trafficking Case

Two Moroccan women were each sentenced to five years in prison for their involvement in a network specializing in immigration and sexual exploitation of young girls in Burkina Faso. This is the verdict handed down by the court of first instance of El Jadida.
It all started with the denunciation of a young girl. According to the facts, a Lebanese couple of managers recruited her as a waitress in a restaurant and nightclub. Arrived at the airport, the Lebanese man made her sign a contract without her being aware of its clauses, reports Assabah. Then he took away her passport. She will hardly do what she was recruited for. She was reduced to prostitution. After 25 days, the situation became untenable for the young girl. She flees.
She goes to the Moroccan embassy where she recounted her misadventure. She exposed the modus operandi of this network specializing in immigration and sexual exploitation of young girls operating from Morocco to the Ouagadougou airport. She confided that several Moroccan women received the orders from clients every evening. They paid for the services to the wife of the Lebanese manager of the restaurant.
The Moroccan embassy in Burkina Faso informed the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). In turn, it provided information to the judicial police of El Jadida. The result? This network was dismantled in the locality of Bir Jdid. The pimps were arrested. Among them, two Moroccan women prosecuted for their involvement in cases of illegal immigration and human trafficking in Burkina Faso. The court of first instance of El Jadida sentenced them to five years in prison each. One of them was convicted in absentia.
