Moroccan Court Sentences Gendarmes to 9 Years for Falsifying Reports

The Court of Appeal of Rabat sentenced on Monday three gendarmes, including a warrant officer, to nine years in prison and a fine of 100,000 dirhams each for falsifying reports.
The Court of Appeal confirmed the sentences handed down at first instance against the three gendarmes, reports the daily Al Akhbar, recalling that the accused had been sentenced to nine years in prison and a fine of 100,000 dirhams each, and to pay 25,000 dirhams each to the former gendarme who joined the civil party in this case.
The three gendarmes, including a warrant officer in Aïn Aouda, were prosecuted in custody for their involvement in a case of falsification of reports. The case dates back to the beginning of 2022, when a gendarme relieved of his duties filed a complaint against gendarmes in Aïn Aouda, accusing them of having falsified a report and caused his placement in custody for drug use.
After an investigation by the competent authorities, the truth was revealed and the involvement of the warrant officer and his two collaborators in this case was revealed.
