Moroccan Court Sentences Child Killer to 25 Years for 3-Year-Old’s Murder

The Criminal Chamber at the Court of Appeal of Nador sentenced, on Wednesday, October 9, the main defendant to 25 years in prison for the murder of little Ikhlass, only 3 years old.
The second defendant was acquitted in this case that goes back to January 2019, when the girl was found dead in a forest near Driouech, in northern Morocco.
According to Hibapress, the trial, which lasted nearly 3 months, had begun in July with a preliminary investigation conducted by the investigating judge on the charges, including involuntary manslaughter following a kidnapping.
On January 22, 2019, the body of little Ikhlass was found by the Royal Gendarmerie in a forest near the town where her parents lived. Several people had then been arrested by the police, including her uncle.
