Moroccan Court to Rule on Sex Tape Extortion Case Involving Gulf Nationals

The court of first instance of Oued Zem will rule this week on a case of sex tape and extortion. The victims are Moroccans and nationals of the Gulf countries.
The court’s decision was expected to be known last Wednesday, but for undisclosed reasons, it has been postponed. The defendant in this case is a hairdresser by profession who has appropriated real estate and luxury cars extorted from his victims, reports the daily Assabah, which points out that the accused, who is being held in custody, almost caused the death of one of his victims whom he was blackmailing with a compromising video.
It is a day laborer who was filmed in compromising situations and to whom he managed to extort 5,000 dirhams with the promise not to broadcast the video. But once the money was pocketed, he shared the video with the worker’s relatives and friends, which led to his separation from his wife and the contempt of his relatives. Had it not been for the intervention and advice of one of his friends, the man might have committed suicide.
The scammer hairdresser was committing his crime until the day when one of his victims, tired of being scammed, filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office near the court of first instance of Oued Zem. The police investigation led to the location of the scammer’s site and his arrest. His father is also being prosecuted at large for complicity since the defendant acquired property in his father’s name to avoid arousing suspicion.
The investigation revealed many troubling facts showing that this hairdresser was acting without regard for the emotional damage he was leaving behind. His modus operandi is to use the photo and voice of a woman to trap his victims. The searches carried out at his home allowed the seizure of the equipment he was using to trap them.
During his interrogation, he declared that his victims were mainly those who visited pornographic sites. They are Gulf nationals and Moroccans, including a member of the House of Representatives and a major merchant.
