Moroccan Court Rejects Appeal from Citizens Stranded in Spain During COVID-19 Lockdown

The administrative court of Rabat, in a decision handed down on Tuesday, March 30, dismissed the appeal of two Moroccans stranded in Algeciras against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Directorate of National Security.
Declared unfounded, the request was rejected by the Court for violation of the state of health emergency, established by the Moroccan government as part of the fight against the coronavirus.
Justifying its judgment in the light of the factual and legal data, the court defended the legitimacy of the decision of the Moroccan authorities, specifying that it had to be taken urgently.
Originally from the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, the two Moroccan citizens had remained stranded in Algeciras, following the closure of Moroccan air and sea borders.
