Moroccan Court Delays Hearing in High-Profile Sex Trafficking Case Involving Gulf Tourists

The criminal chamber of the Marrakech Court of Appeal has adjourned to February 26 the hearing of the case of the network specialized in "sexual slavery of Moroccan girls and their pimps for the benefit of Gulf tourists".
In this case, three people in custody are being prosecuted for "human trafficking". These individuals had been arrested following a police raid on September 8 last in a luxurious villa called "Dar Essour", in the Palmiers district of the ochre city, reports the Alyaoum24 website.
No less than 49 people were arrested during this raid, including 12 Gulf personalities, including Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali. They had each paid 22,000 dirhams for this evening. 32 prostitutes were also arrested and are being prosecuted on provisional release.
A taxi driver and the owner of the villa are also being prosecuted in this case, in particular for pimping. The latter were released after paying a bail of 10,000 dirhams.
It should be noted that the Gulf tourists left the country immediately after being released and just after recording their statements. Their passports had not been confiscated. Alyaoum24 specifies that the Moroccan women arrested in this case were placed in custody for 48 hours.
