Moroccan Court Convicts 152, Including Algerians, for Social Media Migration Scheme to Ceuta

An Algerian woman posing as a Moroccan, an Algerian footballer and other Algerians are among the 152 people arrested for inciting illegal immigration from accounts on various social networks to Ceuta.
While they were used to joining Europe by passing through Libya and Turkey, candidates for illegal immigration now go to the cities of northern Morocco before attempting a crossing towards Spain. Responding to calls launched on social networks, there were 3,000 individuals, mostly Moroccans, as well as other countries from North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, trying to reach Europe on Sunday, September 15, 2024, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
An Algerian woman known on TikTok posing as a Moroccan is the leader of these calls. She was arrested along with two other women, one of whom was pregnant, by the royal gendarmerie in the Belyounech region after considering illegal immigration to Europe, in front of the Bab Sebta border post.
In the wake, an Algerian footballer residing in Morocco was also arrested while he wanted to go illegally to Spain to "evolve" in a famous club. Like his compatriot, he was also inciting others to do the same in the many videos he posted on social networks. The two Algerians were placed in detention. Before them, the security forces had arrested on Thursday, September 12 in Fnideq and repatriated 39 individuals of Algerian and Tunisian nationality, all wishing to go illegally to Ceuta. The Algerian clandestines were sent back to Tunisia due to the breakdown of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Algeria.
