Moroccan Court Allows Libyan Entry Despite COVID Border Closure

The administrative court of Casablanca has granted a Libyan citizen the right to return to Morocco, although the borders are temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Following a complaint filed by the Libyan citizen against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Directorate of National Security, the judge ruled that the plaintiff is entitled to enter the national territory, since he has been tested negative for Covid-19.
According to the court order, the two national institutions have been ordered to implement the court’s decision, which authorizes the Libyan citizen to stay in Morocco during the period of the air blockade.
It is also the duty of the authorities to precisely determine his place of residence and to request the commitment of the Libyan Consul in Casablanca to guarantee his return to Libya after the resumption of air links.
