Moroccan Corruption Probe Widens: Lawyers Implicated in Tetouan Judge Case

Several lawyers and intermediaries will be referred as part of the investigation into the case of the judge from Tetouan, accused of corruption by his second wife.
The people involved in the case of the corrupt judge from Tetouan, including lawyers, will be referred at the beginning of next week before the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Tetouan, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, recalling that several lawyers and intermediaries had been heard by the judicial police as part of this case.
The corrupt judge could also be questioned, say sources close to the investigation, adding that his presence at last week’s hearing was not appreciated by legal professionals, including lawyers, defendants and their families. The latter asked the Court to suspend the judge from his duties for the duration of the ongoing investigation.
The case came to light after the complaint for corruption filed by the judge’s second wife against him before the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Tetouan. An audio recording accompanies the complaint and would contain evidence of the judge’s corruption, who is said to have
