Moroccan Consulate Assists Family After Young Woman Dies in Paris Apartment Fire

The Moroccan Consulate in Paris has just indicated that it is in contact with the family of the young Moroccan woman who died in the night from Monday to Tuesday in the fire that ravaged a building in the 16th arrondissement.
In a statement, the consulate says it is accompanying the family in "this ordeal and for the various formalities," first of identification and then likely the repatriation of the remains to Morocco. The diplomatic representation, it is said, had learned of the death of this 23-year-old woman from the French authorities.
Meriem had not given any news since this fire caused by a woman with a psychiatric history who, according to the French media, had left the psychiatric hospital just a few days before the tragedy.
It is Meriem’s mother who made the trip from Morocco to Paris for DNA tests to identify her daughter.
