Moroccan Constitutional Court Annuls Election of 16 Lawmakers Following Appeals

The Constitutional Court has just canceled the election of 16 members of the House of Representatives, following appeals related to the September 8, 2021 election.
The decision to invalidate the election of these 16 members of the House of Representatives was made in accordance with Article 132 of the Constitution and the relevant provisions contained in the two organic laws relating to the Constitutional Court and the House of Representatives, indicates a press release from the Court. No additional information was given on the identity of the latter or their political parties.
Not all appeals filed with the Constitutional Court were validated, as the institution declared 27 appeals inadmissible and rejected 28 requests for invalidation, the press release notes. With this decision, many political parties find themselves in difficulty.
