Moroccan PM Condemns Prison’s Release of Journalist’s Humiliating Videos

The two videos of journalist Soulaimane Raissouni published by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) are not to the liking of the head of government. Saad Eddine El Othmani considered the act "unacceptable" during a meeting held on Tuesday, July 20 in Rabat.
The videos have outraged the web. Many have denounced the violation of the journalist’s privacy, who was sentenced a few days ago to five years in prison for sexual assault. In the first video, Soulaimane Raissouni appears very weakened, moving with the help of a crutch, and in the second he appears shirtless, about to take a shower.
Even if the DGAPR claims to have posted these videos in response to the statement published on July 17 by the Moroccan collective of human rights organizations, concerned about the fate of the journalist after 100 days of hunger strike, the idea did not please the Moroccans.
The Head of Government says he is "against the violation of the sacred character of the life of any person." El Othmani indicated that he had spoken with the Delegate General for Prison Administration and that he would "speak to him again."
