Moroccan Cleric Urges Loose Clothing for Prayer, Condemns Tight Pants

The famous Salafist Hassan Kettani has just published online what looks like a fatwa concerning clothes to be avoided, according to him, during prayer, namely tight pants. It’s about buttocks...
"Among the mistakes that people who pray make is wearing tight clothes, during the sujud (prostration), their buttocks appear in a hideous way," is approximately the translation of one of his Facebook posts.
Another says: "Our scholars have deemed it detestable to wear tight pants during prayer for several reasons. Be careful to wear loose clothing when you pray, out of respect for prayer." Sheik Kettani seems to be disturbed, annoyed, distracted or otherwise during his prayers by those who wear tight pants.
His posts have had many comments from Internet users, some reacting by applauding him, and others seeing in his words medieval, daring and unfounded reflections.
It should be recalled that Hassan Kettani had been sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2003 in the context of the Casablanca bombings in May 2003, before being pardoned by King Mohammed VI in 2012.
