Moroccan City of Meknes Rocked by 5 Deaths in 8 Days, Including Suicides and Homicides

The Moroccan city of Meknes is living to the rhythm of suicides and homicides. In just over a week, five lives were lost in five different neighborhoods of the city.
A man in his fifties decided to take his own life by jumping from the terrace of a building, in a neighborhood of the new town, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. A second case occurred in the old medina. It is a man barely in his forties who also decided to end his life by hanging.
Furthermore, during the same period, continues the newspaper, the Ismailian capital experienced three homicides. A sexagenarian, a street vendor of cigarettes in the Borj Moulay Omar neighborhood, put an end to the life of a café boy who had refused to let him sell his cigarettes inside the establishment.
The second homicide was perpetrated by a minor against a man in his forties, for reasons still unknown. The last crime took place in the Bab Bettioui neighborhood. A 52-year-old individual who had had a family dispute with his wife, at his home, had assaulted her with a blunt metal object. The same suspect also assaulted the owner of the home he was renting, inflicting serious blows and injuries on her.
The perpetrators of the three homicides were arrested and made available to the preliminary investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
