Moroccan City Imposes Strict COVID-19 Measures as Cases Rise

New restrictive measures have been taken since Friday by the provincial authorities of Taounate to fight against the spread of Covid-19.
These measures, planned to last one week, include the closure of businesses, cafes, restaurants as well as craft and professional activities at 8 p.m., the closure of public spaces, parks and gardens as well as the ban on broadcasting football matches in the cafes of the city of Taounate.
They also include strengthening control over compliance with the wearing of masks and social distancing, with the repression of all offenders of health prevention measures, in accordance with the legal provisions in force, it is further specified.
In addition, awareness campaigns are also planned to encourage citizens to comply with the stricter measures in order to counter the spread of the coronavirus.
