Beyond its heritage, Essaouira offers decisive natural assets for quality of life. The city has a long fine sandy beach stretching for several kilometers to the south and enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year, regulated by the ocean winds that sweep the coastline.
This distinction comes in a context where the preferences of retirees are evolving towards places combining authenticity and serenity. Essaouira thus joins a ranking dominated this year by the Greek island of Paros, followed by Tavira in Portugal and Trou aux Biches in Mauritius.
