Moroccan Child, 12, Found in Spain After Dangerous Journey Under Truck

The police found a 12-year-old Moroccan boy wandering the streets of Seville. He managed to cross all border controls from Morocco by traveling hidden under a truck.
The boy, first seen by residents who were alerted by his neglected appearance and apparent malnutrition, was immediately taken care of by the local police. Once on the scene, the agents found that the child was in very poor health, reports diariodesevilla.es.
After overcoming language barriers, the boy recounted his journey to a police officer. He explained that he had left Morocco in search of work in Spain, leaving his parents behind due to the poor economic situation in his country. He managed to hide under a truck in a parking lot to cross the border without being seen and arrive in Andalusia.
The local police contacted the national police and the juvenile prosecutor’s office to investigate the child’s situation. According to the police data and fingerprints, he had never been taken care of by the social services in Spain.
The boy was entrusted to the social services, who activated the child protection protocol and admitted him to a center for his care.
