Moroccan Cabinet to Undergo Second Round of COVID-19 Testing

Moroccan ministers will have to undergo another health check. This decision follows the end of the medical confinement period of the Minister of Energy, Abdelkader Amara, who had tested positive for coronavirus.
This is a detailed medical examination that the ministers will have to undergo shortly. They had previously undergone a medical examination, the results of which were negative. The answers to questions about their health will make it possible to ensure that they have not contracted any pathology and that they are healthy.
The health status of Minister Abdelkader Amara is currently stable, after his admission to the military hospital in Rabat for a health check a few days ago. As the Minister of Energy did not show any signs of contamination, he had contacts with his colleagues on the occasion of a government council; which justified their medical check-up.
Other members of the government who were on official mission outside the Moroccan territory, and returned only on the eve of the closure of maritime and air borders, will be subjected to a medical examination. To these must be added all those who have been in contact with the Minister of Energy, Abdelkader Amara, those who attended the government council, those who presented reports to parliament and made statements in the public media. The minister remained in medical confinement at his home for two weeks and did not stop working, making important decisions within his responsibilities. He was not admitted to a hospital according to the requirements in this matter.
In addition to the fact that Abdelkader Amara’s infection was controversial, during his confinement, he was treated with chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, even though this treatment protocol had not been validated by the Ministry of Health.
