Moroccan Businessman Refuses to Return $250,000 Mistakenly Deposited by Tax Office

2.5 million dirhams. This is the amount that a businessman discovered in his company’s account. The sum was transferred by mistake by the Tax Office of Sidi bennour.
According to the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the Urban Commune had decided to refund the financial guarantees deposited by the management company of the weekly market spaces in the city, following the cancellation of the contract.
A mistake had crept in and the sum ended up in the account of another company. However, the beneficiary refused to return the amount, let alone find an amicable arrangement.
Some would even have advised him to transfer the amount directly to the bank account of the commune’s partner company, adds the same source. This approach, contrary to the provisions in force, risks further aggravating the situation.
