Moroccan Business Leaders Dominate Forbes' Middle East Women's Ranking

Seven Moroccan women have distinguished themselves in the latest ranking of the American magazine Forbes, dedicated to businesswomen in the Middle East. This edition targeted women from state-owned companies, private companies, self-made women, heiresses, etc.

In its latest edition, Jeune Afrique presents a list of seven of the most influential women in the business world in Morocco.

Nezha Hayat (7th in the ranking), 57 years old, head of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) since 2016. President of the Club of Women Company Directors in Morocco.

Laila Mamou (20th), Director of Subsidiaries and Participations of Crédit agricole consumer finance and Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Wafasalaf. CEO of Injaz Al-Maghrib, a Moroccan NGO recognized as a public utility that works to raise young people’s awareness of entrepreneurship.

Salwa Idrissi Akhannouch (22nd), Owner of the Aksal group, behind the country’s largest shopping center - the Morocco Mall -. Her group is the leading distributor of high-end products in the Kingdom (Fendi, Ralph Lauren, La Martina, Zara, ...). She also launched her own cosmetics brand, Yan&One, at the end of 2017.

Rita Maria Zniber (32nd), CEO of the Diana Holding group (370 million dollars in annual turnover in 2018). Diana Holding holds 11% of the French group Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits.
