Moroccan Business Group Urges Health Minister to Lower PCR Test Costs for Companies

The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has sent a letter to the Minister of Health, notifying him that the high cost of PCR tests hinders the realization of screening campaigns in companies.
After individuals, it is the turn of companies to complain about the rise in PCR test prices. The CGEM’s letter sent to the Minister of Health bears the signature of President Chakib Alj. He is asking Khalid Ait Taleb to set up "a unified and accessible offer" of PCR tests. "Given the resurgence of the number of contaminations, it is necessary to maintain a high level of vigilance, in particular through massive screening in companies".
He explains in his correspondence that the fact that "the current offer of PCR tests is heterogeneous in terms of price and remains not very affordable hinders its realization". The CGEM asks the minister to intervene with the laboratories in order to lower and unify the cost of PCR tests, in order to allow employees and their families "to ensure the continuity of their activities in healthy conditions".
A few days ago, the director of the drug and pharmacy had announced that the Ministry of Health was going to look into the retail prices of PCR tests. Moroccans are waiting for this promise to be kept.
