Moroccan-British Actress Laila Rouass Launches Wellness Platform to Promote Happiness

British model and actress of Moroccan origin Laila Rouass has set herself the mission of promoting happiness and well-being and helping people lead a more balanced life. In this sense, she has launched a platform based in the United Kingdom.
Where did the idea of creating a happiness platform come from? "After years of not loving my body and not feeling fulfilled or even happy, I realized that I, and I alone, could bring about the emotional change needed," she said. The 50-year-old actress has worked on the launch of WholeAndThenSome over the past two years, according to Arab News. "This is what I’ve been working on over the past two years... reframing what happiness means to me. [...] I believe we can all reframe our lives to get the most nourishing out of them," she said.
To properly run her platform, Laila Rouass has acquired certain necessary skills. In 2021, she took a course on the science of happiness at Yale University. "Once you’ve discovered the science of your well-being, life becomes infinitely more balanced and a lot less scary," she explained. Her teachings are based on self-compassion. "Without self-compassion, self-abuse takes on a force that becomes overwhelming and difficult to control," she added.
On Sunday, Laila Rouass held a workshop on self-compassion. She also plans to hold conferences and regularly organize webinars and workshops to promote happiness and well-being.
