Moroccan Billionaires Donate $200 Million to National Coronavirus Fund

The two Moroccan billionaires have decided to contribute to the fund to fight the coronavirus.
Othmane Benjelloun, chairman of Bank Of Africa (ex-BMCE Bank) and Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, also a major shareholder of the Afriquia company, each make a donation of one billion dirhams. This individual donation represents one-tenth of the special fund named the Fund for the Management of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
"We are mobilized soldiers to contribute to the preservation of the health of our fellow citizens and that of our economy," said billionaire Othmane Benjelloun. According to Hespress, Bank Of Africa’s donation is equivalent to the results of a half-year of the banking group’s activity.
Othman Benjelloun and Aziz Akhannouch are the two richest men in Morocco, according to the latest Forbes ranking.
