Moroccan Beach Resorts See Tourism Surge as Agadir and Taghazout Welcome Summer Visitors

Tourism activity is picking up in southern Morocco. Domestic tourists flocked to Agadir and Taghazout for Eid Al-Adha. The summer season is starting on a good note and the outlook is good for the rest of July and August.
Hotels in Agadir and Taghazout were full during the Eid Al-Adha period when many domestic tourists made reservations. And the trend will continue throughout the summer season because tourists are attracted by the beautiful beaches north of Agadir and the new luxury hotels in Taghazout, according to La Vie Eco.
To seduce and retain customers, hoteliers in Agadir and Taghazout are competing with offers. The Morimoto Japanese restaurant at the Fairmont Taghazout hotel continues to be an attraction and a safe address for guests staying there as well as for visitors and residents of the city. The Tikida Taghazout, with its luxurious setting, should also be fully booked for the rest of July and August. The same goes for Hyatt Regency and the Pickalbatros White Beach Resort Taghazout.
In Agadir, the Sofitel hotel also expects an exceptional summer season. The establishment continues to renovate its reception and accommodation areas to position itself as a luxury hotel. During the Eid Al-Adha period, it recorded an occupancy rate of 82% according to its management and should be fully booked for the Timitar festival in mid-July and in August.
However, hoteliers remain concerned about the next season due to the lack of visibility from September onwards. They are calling for a strengthening of air service from the French and English markets, the main foreign markets of the seaside resort. In addition, the cable car, long awaited in Agadir, has been put into service in recent days. It will allow users and visitors to have a panoramic view of the city when going to the emblematic and historic site of the Kasbah Oufella.
