Moroccan Bailiff Jailed for Fraud Leading to Lebanese-Owned Company’s Bankruptcy

A bailiff was imprisoned, last Wednesday, in the "Outita" prison in Sidi Kacem, on the orders of the investigating judge, for falsifying an official document that led to the seizure and bankruptcy of a company owned by a Lebanese.
The detention of the bailiff was ordered by the investigating judge at the court of first instance in Sidi Kacem, after being confronted with evidence during a confrontation with the witnesses.
According to the newspaper Al Massae, the accused, even before this decision by the judge, had been placed under judicial supervision with a ban on leaving the national territory after the preliminary investigation. The case was revealed to the public following a complaint from the victim, a Lebanese investor. He claims to have been the victim of criminal acts when his company, which managed a sand quarry, was the subject of a fictitious seizure report.
As a result of this decision, all his assets were sold at auction at modest prices. For the promoter of this company, the valuation of his assets was entrusted to a non-specialized expert, who set a price well below their real value to serve certain parties who were interested in acquiring the seized assets covered by the said report.
Forced into bankruptcy and the dismissal of his employees, the company’s owner addressed a request to the Royal Cabinet to demand justice. The same newspaper reveals that the acts of injustice of which the Lebanese was a victim are the work of certain influential people supported by a former MP from Sidi Kacem.
