The girl and her mother are both in good health, the territorial directorate of the National Institute of Health Management (Ingesa) of Melilla said in its press release, relayed by El Faro de Melilla.

The last baby of 2020 was born last Thursday at 10:49 pm, a boy of 49 centimeters and 3,040 grams. Omar Haouari, territorial director of Ingesa, congratulated the families on behalf of all the medical staff.

In addition, Ingesa reported a reduction in births in the city. "The regional hospital closed the year 2020 with 1,196 births, consolidating the downward trend of the last five years since it reached the highest figure in 2015 with 3,001 births," they said.
