Moroccan Authorities Thwart 95 Migrants’ Attempt to Reach Europe from Driouch Beach

The Royal Gendarmerie arrested some 95 sub-Saharan migrants who were trying to reach Europe from the beach of Driouch.
They will not have been able to reach the old continent. The local authorities intercepted no less than 95 sub-Saharan migrants who were on the beach of Tazaguin, in the town of Driouch, between Nador and Al Hoceima, reports the Spanish agency, EFE.
The group includes 14 women and 4 children. These candidates for illegal immigration were all taken to the local police station.
Other arrests will also be made in the same locality. This is the arrest of two migrants who were trying to reach the Spanish coast on a jet ski, according to the same source.
According to official figures, more than 40,300 departures to Spain, during the first six months of this year, were aborted.
In 2018, the Moroccan government aborted the departure of 89,000 irregular migrants, a "record" number.
