Moroccan Authorities Seize 192,000 Unsafe Phone Chargers at Tanger-Med Port

The services of the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Green Economy and Digital, in charge of quality control, in coordination with the services of the Customs Directorate, proceeded, on Thursday, October 10, at the Tanger-Med Port, to the seizure of a shipment of 192,000 non-compliant mobile phone chargers with safety standards.
In a statement, the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Green Economy and Digital, in charge of quality control, said that the impounded cargo contains seven commercial brands, samples of which have been examined by an accredited laboratory.
The examinations show that the chargers in question do not comply with safety standards. Also, these accessories represent a danger to the safety of citizens, the same source indicates.
This new seizure brings the number of non-compliant chargers impounded at the various ports since the beginning of the year to more than 748,500.
"The control services have taken all necessary measures to prevent access of these chargers to the national market," assures the Ministry of Industry.
