Moroccan Authorities Debunk Viral ’Drug Lord’ Interview, Arrest Two in Media Hoax

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release has just provided more details on the case of this fake interview carried out by the Spanish channel TV Cuatro. And everything seems false, even what the protagonists seemed to believe.
Two people were arrested. The fake "Moroccan Pablo Escobar" but real car park attendant, as well as the car park attendant’s friend who would have proposed him for the role to the Spanish channel TV Cuatro.
However, according to the DGSN press release, the fake Pablo Escobar did not know at all that he was doing an interview. He actually believed he was filming a movie. A movie that earned him the sum of 2000 dirhams. So we don’t understand on what basis his arrest was made. Is his word being doubted? If so, why put his version in a press release?
In the report, "Pablo Escobar" is presented as "a drug lord who earns from drug trafficking and psychotropic substances more than 180,000 euros per month".
As for the accomplice, he is a resident of the city of Ceuta who simply played the role of intermediary. The DGSN press release specifies that he also had his share of lies from the channel which would have served him a version according to which they were in fact members of a civil association and that they were making a report against drug use and addiction. And that they also needed to stage a scenario to help them in a quest for funding.
In any case, the same press release specifies that the car park attendant and his friend were placed in custody, that the investigation continues to reveal the identity of all the participants, foreigners, and Moroccans. And that the DGSN is asserting its right of reply with the TV Cuatro channel.
