Moroccan Anti-Terror Unit Hit by COVID-19 Outbreak, Over 60 Paratroopers Infected

The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) are severely affected by the coronavirus. In total, more than 60 paratroopers assigned to the Hadar anti-terrorism device have been infected with covid-19.
These dozens of paratroopers (between 60 and 70) assigned to the 6th BAFRA in Benguerir, one of Morocco’s largest air bases, tested positive for the coronavirus at the military hospital in Marrakech, on Wednesday, April 16, 2020. They were then transferred to the block dedicated to coronavirus patients at the Ibn Sina military hospital in Marrakech.
These cases of contamination were recorded at a time when this air base was supposed to host, between March and April, the Africa Lion operation, jointly organized each year with the American army. This year’s edition was canceled last month due to the health crisis. It could be rescheduled at a later date.
