Moroccan Anti-Corruption Probe Targets Former Ministers and Mayors

The former Haraki minister, and former president of the municipal council of Fqih Bensalah, Mohamed Moubdii and other personalities, could be subject to criminal prosecution. The Attorney General of the King at the Court of Auditors has transmitted heavy files concerning them to the Attorney General’s Office.
In addition to the file of the former minister, Mohamed Moubdie, that of the Istiqlali leader and former deposed president of the commune of El Harhoura, Faouzi Ben Allal, was transmitted to the Attorney General’s Office. Including those concerning a former president of the municipal council of Guelmim, and the municipal councils of Bouguergouhe (province of Settat) and M’Rirt (province of Khenifra). These personalities will certainly be subject to criminal prosecution for serious mismanagement noted in their management, reports Al Massae.
In a statement, the Court of Auditors indicates that the Attorney General’s Office is empowered to initiate criminal proceedings against these former officials. It is the magistrates of Driss Jettou who revealed the "serious mismanagement" that has tainted their management
