Moroccan Airport Parking Fees Spark Outrage, Lawmakers Demand Action

Fed up with paying a fortune to park your car at the airport? This is the exasperation of users of Moroccan airports, who denounce exorbitant prices and poor quality of service.
Parliamentary adviser Kamal Sabri (RNI) has just questioned the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, on this issue.
Sabri points to the exorbitant cost of parking in Moroccan airports, describing it as "the most expensive in the Kingdom." For a domestic flight and a two-day parking, users have to pay 300 dirhams, a rate deemed "unacceptable" by the parliamentary adviser.
According to him, the reason for these exorbitant prices lies in the management of the parking lots. Indeed, an auction is organized to award the management of airport infrastructure to the highest bidders. The latter, concerned to make their investment profitable, have no choice but to pass on these costs to the prices of the services, thus heavily penalizing the users.
To address this situation, the official calls for an overhaul of the airport parking management system. He recommends stronger involvement of the public authorities in price regulation and the implementation of measures guaranteeing an acceptable quality of service for users.
